FAQs

When can you start?

For forensic cases, we can initiate proceedings in the same week the order is issued.

What services do you offer?

We offer comprehensive forensic and clinical services, including but not limited to child custody evaluations, parenting plan assessments, psychological evaluations, therapy and counseling, trauma assessments, and expert testimony.

What is a child custody evaluation?

A child custody evaluation, although the term is evolving towards "parenting plan evaluation," is a thorough assessment conducted by a qualified mental health professional. Its purpose is to determine the best parenting arrangement for a child, placing a strong emphasis on their well-being and developmental needs. The shift towards "parenting plan evaluation" underscores a focus on responsible parenting rather than the idea of possessing the child.

How long does a child custody evaluation take?

The duration varies based on the complexity of the case. On average, from court order being issued to report being completed, it takes approximately 90 days to complete, including interviews, observations, and document review.

What should I bring to my appointment?

For forensic cases: You will receive a dedicated email outlining the specific requirements and instructions tailored to your engagement. This will guide you on the necessary information and materials for the appointment.

For clinical cases: Please bring your completed intake documents and any relevant medical records. These records will aid in providing comprehensive insights during your consultation.

If you have any questions or need further clarification regarding what to bring for your appointment, feel free to contact our office.

Is my information kept confidential in clinical and forensic cases?

In clinical cases, client information is held in strict confidentiality, adhering to professional ethics and legal regulations. All personal and medical details are securely managed and shared only within the professional team involved in the specific case, ensuring privacy and trust.

However, in forensic cases, it's essential to understand that confidentiality operates differently. While we still uphold privacy and discretion, the findings and information gathered during forensic evaluations may be reported to the court or other relevant legal entities. Our priority is to provide accurate and unbiased information to aid in legal decision-making, and this sometimes involves sharing evaluation results with appropriate authorities or stakeholders as mandated by law.

Please be assured that we are committed to maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality while abiding by the legal requirements associated with forensic evaluations.

What are your fees and payment options?

How are payments handled for your services?

For clinical services, we operate on a private-pay basis. Clients are responsible for covering the costs of assessments, consultations, and any related services directly. Payment plans and options can be discussed during your initial consultation.

On the other hand, forensic services are typically not considered medical treatment and may not be reimbursable by health insurance. Clients involved in forensic evaluations are generally responsible for payment themselves or through legal arrangements, as determined by the specific case and legal proceedings.

Please feel free to reach out to discuss any financial concerns or inquire further about our fee structure for both clinical and forensic services.
